Back from the backend (ish)
Hello!
Another month rolls on, and some more goals get ticked off. I am happy with this month, I was able to take it (relatively) easy but still get some important work done. I am very proud of the logging work I have done as well as the refactoring. The front-end tests did not happen as the library I was going to use did not have their C# branch finished so will hold off until that is done. I did try though but pivoted to making a game state loading service to handle loading games, as well as having premade screenshot and trailer games! The loader would also be able to help when loading test cases to the UI testing module.
Next up is localisation backend work, localisation is a key part of my plan for some form of commercial success (apart from you know.. a decent game).
Things I got done this month
- Updated the trailer with the new dice UI stuff
- Attempted a YouTube shorts video,
- Upgraded Godot
- Refactored a bunch of stuff to make some quality-of-life changes for myself
- Made a logging system that covers backend and frontend logging
- Started work on a game state loading module
Things I want to do in October
Marketing
- I still want an automated short video poster so I can send regular marketing bits. I will try again to start a POC
Development
- Finish the game state loading system
- Implement in-game localisation
- Make a tool to automate localisation with a commercial translation product
