Onwards to playtesting
Hello all!
January was a good month for my work on the game. I have started the year aiming to work on the day 7 hours a week. 1 hour a day is the main goal but doing it weekly allows me to take days off here and there.
I nearly managed to accomplish all my goals! I ended up adding a win condition to the game (King Of The Hill) instead of the controller support. Adding the new condition surprisingly took me longer than I expected but it means a lot of core work has been done for future features.
I also did work on a proof of concept for controller work, and Godot has made controller integration extremely smooth so I am confident that it will be implementable though I suspect it is a full month of work.
For this month I am aiming to have a tutorial system in place. I don't need it finished but I do want it to be functional. After that, my goal will be to playtest the game with a group of friends so I can put more thought into the game design itself. Following that I would do a G.Round 'round' as I believe they offer one free playtest for indie game devs. And following that I would work towards a demo being available. So this is all very exciting as my intended release date is coming (though let's be honest there is always the chance I push it back to concentrate on marketing a bit).
