It's Ai-live!
Hi all,
A massive month of work! I am pretty impressed with what I achieved this month! I even nearly finished all my goals. As usual, I procrastinated on remaking the trailers, I did the Steam page but did not meet my goal of getting the insta/tiktok/youtube shorts stuff done. The resolutions are tricky as I am not fully across how Godot handles that stuff
The biggest win was my AI work, I even managed to do two POCs with the second iteration being way better than the first. There is lots to do to make it amazing, but the foundation is there.
Next month will be backend focused, I have some minor redesign and refactoring to do, and I want to get some logging into the backend stuff (and potentially front-end stuff). I want to update the Godot engine to the latest version too, and I have some personal life admin to get done as I have been ignoring it for work on the game. I also want to try some unit testing in the front end stuff
Things I got done this month
- Finished the Dice features
- Dice look like they are being "rolled" now
- Movement limitations (impassable terrain, movement costs)
- A solid proof of concept for my new AI design
- New art from updated asset packs! Including sprites for two new factions
- New trailer and screenshots for Steam
Things I want to do in September
Marketing
- Shorts/Insta/Tiktok video
Development
- Upgrade Godot
- Refactor work
- Faction work
- Game creation DTOs
- Constants for Godot signals and groups
- Minor separation of Clean Architecture layers
- Logging POC
- Single log file, entry log for every method.
- Check if we unit test logging and update accordingly
- Really simple front-end unit test POC
